Cannes Touch This – Six Steps – Cannes yachts, cars, fireworks, restaurants
Not to be missed, these features of recent and upcoming events in Cannes are guaranteed to blow other holiday destinations out the water!
Whether on land or water, the charisma is rife. Once again Cannes has demonstrated its capacity to attract the crème de la crème of the social and business elite. As the helicopters whirl overhead and holiday goers intermingle with high profile international figures, the city becomes alive in a haze of glitz and glamour. Want to make your holiday as fabulous and unforgettable as possible. À la carte in Cannes;
1. Fireworks, fireworks, Cannes fireworks, everywhere.
The skies of Cannes become a dazzling playground of light, noise and colour throughout the July and August Festival d’Art Polytechnique. Against the backdrop of orchestral clamour, the finest masters of international fireworks compete for your appreciation and for their chance to contribute to what has become a truly emblematic event in the South of France. Don’t miss France’s time to shine with Prestatech, to round off the festival on the 24th. Charter a yacht with 212 Yachts for the best position to see the fireworks right on the water in the bay of Cannes. Or, grab a cushion for a spot on the beach, or bags a seat at the Radisson Bleu Panoramic Bar or the JW Marriott for an astonishing viewpoint and an explosive evening.
2. Cannes yachts on the water & cars on the Croisette
From the water, business is as usual for the likes of The Carlton Hotel and the Grand Hyatt Hotel Martinez. Draw nearer, however, and it would be easy to mistake La Croisette as the set for an upcoming Transformers sequel. Valet parking and pavements alike have become adorned with a rainbow of supercar stardom, with owners from Dubai and Kuwait descending upon Cannes for the summer months. A check list of Lamborghini’s, Ferraris, Rolls Royce’s and Mercedes, we can just about hear the roar of a gold Range Rover’s engine over the thousand excited camera clicks from onlookers. If we’re lucky, we may catch these customised beauties nipping round the corners in Cannes in a blink of an eye, their drivers enroute to the next Michelin-star restaurant, exclusive pool side party and of course popping on luxury yachts in Cannes.
3. Cannes yacht charter – Lose yourself off the mainland and visit the Lerins Islands off Cannes
Charter a luxury motor boat or yacht with 212 Yachts for the opportunity to visit the Lérins Islands, a 10 minute water hop from Cannes, for a delightful mid-week island getaway. Here you have the choice to explore the sumptuous shoreline of the bigger Ile Saint-Marguerite and its Musée de la Mer, which houses an array of archaeological treasures and shipwreck remains. Later in the afternoon, after a dip in the crystal clear waters and even a visit to the sailing-boat-come- pizza-restaurant for your freshly prepared oven baked masterpiece, take a tour round the monastery of the smaller Ile St Honorat or a stroll amongst the atmospheric island forests. Grab an evening bite at the prestigious La Guerite where Chef Yiannis Kioroglou will undoubtedly be cooking up a storm. Our yacht charter clients have told us the Lobster is a thing of dreams..! Offering Cannes yachts and yacht charters throughout the Med!
4. Cannes Yacht Festival 8th- 13th September, 2015
Early September, we welcome back the unmissable event on every yachting calendar: Cannes Yachting festival. Le Vieux Port and Port Pierre Canto Cannes invite you and the giants of the yachting industry to delight in a weekly exhibition of luxury yachts, super yacht tenders and Cannes yachts. Showcasing 100 world premieres of some 550 boats on display, this year promises to be bigger and better than ever before. Hurry down to the port to rub shoulders with some of the biggest international brokers and buyers in the game, not forgetting to book a luxury boat or super yacht tender with 212 Yachts to move around the ports with ease!
5. Party til the sun comes up – Plage Electroniques Cannes
Each weekend, Cannes raises the roof to celebrate the annual Plage Electroniques Festival. Progressively better each year, we have already been blown away by the sounds of Feder and Claptone, with The Avena absolutely smashing his set to a 30,000 strong crowd last Saturday, closing an epic evening with Kadebostany’s Castle in the Snow. If you have missed these sensational and sweaty scenes, do not fear. Sunday 23rd August promises a calmer Vibe at PIKNIC Cannes, still boasting the likes of John Talabot, Malcom, and Modsleep to ease you into Monday morning. Book your tickets at plage-electroniqes.com to secure your spot on the shore.
6. Secret of the day #ssshhhhhhh – Cannes restaurants
If searching for a more intimate setting to sample top quality Cannoise cuisine, we would highly recommend La Toque D’Or, situated on Rue Louis Blanc. This little treasure stands apart from the central restaurant hub in both location and dining experience. Owners favour a friendly five table atmosphere and take great pride in a unique style of presentation, meaning that dishes are as scrumptious as they are aesthetically pleasing. Start off with quails eggs served on a bed of beautifully tender asparagus, cashew and bacons, followed by a main of seared veal and finished with a chocolate and raspberry mousse with pistachio ganache. The combination of flavours is simply masterful. Fresh, exciting and one to keep close to your chest!
Be it land or sea, it is 212 Yacht’s mission to ensure that we get you to where you want to go. And in style! From Cannes yachts, to super yachts around the world, the possibilities are mind-blowing.
