The ultimate way to enjoy Monaco is to hire a yacht during the Grand Prix. Charter a yacht and arrange for a berth to get the complete Monaco experience.

Hire a Yacht for the Monaco Grand Prix

The Monaco Grand Prix is an amazing spectacle that takes place once a year. It is the jewel in the Formula 1 calendar, and is regarded as the most difficult of all the Formula 1 race tracks. Every year it is sure to attract thousands of tourists to Monaco and millions of viewers across the globe. Many people like to hire a yacht for this occasion and soak up the speedy atmosphere as the cars whizz around the port Hercules.

It truly is one of the best, if not the best event and party of the year on the Cote d’Azur. Many people buy a one day ticket, Sunday being the most popular day for the Monaco Grand Prix race day. Others buy a weekend ticket and take the chance to explore Monaco and the surrounding area, Saint Tropez and Cannes if a whole weekend of fast paced cars gets a bit too much! There are options for everybody.

There are 5 star hotels at the high end of the market, and there are some more affordable hotels available for those within a budget. Others choose the luxury of a Monaco Grand Prix yacht charter. They either reserve a berth in the port (a service 212 Yachts can arrange) at the heart of all the activity, or anchor further out, away from the chaos and noise.

Getting Around During the Monaco Grand Prix

During the event, driving and parking in Monaco and Monte Carlo are a challenge. We recommend against it also because much of the Monaco roadway is closed off for the event. There are however regular trains from Nice to Monte Carlo which only take about 20-25 mins. The circuit is only a few minutes walk from the train station. The train is the most efficient both in terms of time and cost.

A taxi from Nice takes 30-40 minutes depending on traffic. However, be warned as taxis are infamous for charging extortionate prices. UBER can also be a suitable option, depending on availability.

For those who are staying in the surrounding Monaco area, walking is the best option by far. With both the weather being usually quite dry and the warm Mediterranean breeze being blown across Monaco, why would you not walk to the racetrack?

Monaco Grand Prix Accommodation

The beautiful area of Circuit de Monaco is situated on the waterfront of Port Hercule in Monte Carlo. It has earned the city of Monaco a reputation as the most glamorous Formula 1 location. Monte Carlo is hugely dependent on tourism and therefore has many hotels that are situated close to the circuit. However, these hotels may come at a big price and some might find them too expensive. Be sure to also book your accommodation early to avoid disappointment. The Grand Prix attracts hundreds of race fans every year so it is important to keep this in mind.

An alternative may be to stay in Nice. This is where the nearest international airport is. It has many more options available to all sorts of budgets and is easy to get to and from Monaco.
