Can I charter a yacht in France during Covid?
*This information is subject to the stipulation that foreign travel from your home country is permitted.*
If you are travelling from a country within the green list, you can charter a yacht in France. In addition to this, you must abide by the health regulations. Citizens coming from a country on the green list are also not required to quarantine.
The countries which comprise the The Green List are:
- The European Union Member States
- San Marino
Americans… you are now on the green list!
From July 1st, if you are travelling from the United States or Canada, you are permitted to enter France for tourism reasons.
If you are not vaccinated, and are travelling from a country not mentioned above, you must have pressing grounds for travel. Therefore, in this circumstance, passengers are not currently permitted to charter a yacht in France during Covid. This includes the UK.
What documents must I present on arrival?
If you are not vaccinated and are travelling from a country on the green list, you must present a negative PCR test taken less than 72 hours before the flight, or a negative antigenic test taken less than 48 hours before the flight. Individuals must also present a signed sworn declaration.
What if I am vaccinated?
Proof of vaccination. It will only be valid if it proves that you are fully vaccinated:
Two weeks after the second shot for two-shot vaccines (Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca);
Four weeks after the shot for one-shot vaccines (Johnson & Johnson);
Only vaccines authorized by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) will be accepted, i.e. Pfizer (Comirnaty), Moderna, AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria) and Johnson & Johnson (Janssen).
What if previously had Covid?
You are permitted to enter two weeks after the shot for vaccines administered to people who have already had COVID-19 (only one dose is necessary).
What are the regulations surrounding children?
Children under the age of 11 are not required to present a negative PCR test result. This is on the condition that the parents/guardians have a negative PCR result.
Do I need to quarantine upon arrival?
If you are entering France to charter a yacht from a country on the green list, you are not required to quarantine.
So, I can charter a yacht in France during Covid, but what are the current general restrictions in the country?
Restaurants, bars, gyms, casinos and cinemas are open.
Nightclubs open on Friday, July 9th.
