Am I allowed to charter a yacht in Croatia during Covid?
*This information is subject to the stipulation that foreign travel from your home country is permitted.*
Yes. Croatia is allowing all tourists entry, provided that foreign travel is permitted in your country. If you are a passenger travelling from an EU country, or from within the Schengen Area you are permitted entry. Passengers travelling from outside this region must provide documentary evidence of accommodation paid in full, prior to your arrival. This includes documentary evidence that you are going to charter a yacht in Croatia, such as a charter contract. The yacht charter must be paid for in advance, as the reservation alone is not sufficient for entry.
NOTE: passengers that are coming from Brazil, Republic of South Africa, Zanzibar or India, need to be self isolated for 14 days (can be made on board for yachts above 24m and be reduced to 7 days with a test).
What Documents must I present on arrival?
If you want to travel to charter a yacht in Croatia, you must present the following documents:
- A negative PCR test performed up to 48 hours before your arrival. (A rapid antigen test result is also accepted. Those who present a rapid antigen test must repeat the test again within 10 days).
- An arrival form, filled out in advance of arrival at the Croatian border.
What if I am vaccinated?
Fully vaccinated individuals who have waited the required two-week period after the vaccination must present a vaccination certificate. These individuals will not be required to present a negative PCR or rapid antigen test result.
What if I previously had Covid-19?
If you previously had and recovered from Covid-19, you must present a positive PCR or rapid antigen test. This must be dated within 11-90 days of your arrival in Croatia. In this case, you will not be required to present a negative PCR or rapid antigen test result.
What are the regulations surrounding children?
Children under 7 who are travelling with a parent/guardian are not required to present a negative test result.
Do I need to quarantine upon arrival?
You do not need to quarantine if you present one of the following certificates:
- A negative COVID test.
- A vaccination certificate.
- Proof of having recovered from COVID-19.
If you do not provide the following documents, you will be refused entry, and will be unable to continue to charter a yacht in Croatia.
So, I can charter a yacht in Croatia during Covid, but what are the general restrictions in the country?
It is mandatory to wear a face mask in enclosed public spaces and on public transport.
Shops remain open.
Nightclubs in Croatia remained closed. However, outdoor terraces of all cafes and restaurants are open. Closing times vary between 7PM and 10PM, depending on the region.
